Tonia Edwards, Ph.D.
Communications and Marketing Manager

Tonia Edwards is Balentine's Communications and Marketing Manager. She joined Balentine from Georgia State University where she was a faculty member in the Department of Communication.

Tonia served as Course Director for Georgia State University's introductory film history course where she implemented use of an online learning component, social media networks and eBook technologies. While at Georgia State, she also received a grant from the French American Cultural Exchange to host the Tournée Festival of Contemporary French Film.

Tonia holds a master's degree and Ph.D. in Communication and Culture from Indiana University where she specialized in Film and Media Studies. While completing her Ph.D., she received fellowship support from UFR d'Études Anglo-Américanes at l'Université de Paris X – Nanterre where she taught Communications courses. She earned her bachelor's degree in French and Film Studies from the University of Georgia. Tonia regularly presents at annual conferences for the National Communication Association and the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, and she continues to teach as an Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University.
