What do you like to do in your down time away from work?

I’m a big outdoors person so in my free time I love being outside enjoying the amazing weather that North Carolina has to offer. After being in the U.S. for over four years I am still shocked to see the sun during the winter months, so I am soaking up every bit of it whenever I can (also so I can send pictures to Sweden to show that the sun does in fact still exist). Currently at the top of the list is golfing with friends and family, but if you ask our two Australian Shepherds hiking and exploring new areas definitely comes first.

Why did you choose to come work at Balentine?

After meeting the people I would be working with it was an easy decision to work here. Everyone made me feel so welcomed and appreciated, that really resonates with the kind of environment I want to work in which fosters growth and a positive culture.

What is the most exotic place you have ever been?

Traveling has always been one of my favorite things so this is a tough one to answer. Before moving to the US in 2017, I would have absolutely said California, where my dad and I played Pebble Beach, Cordevalle and a few other amazing golf courses. However, I think the most exotic trip would be to Sydney, Australia. It is one of the few trips when my entire family went and no one touched a golf club. We spent a few weeks Down Under just visiting our relatives and spending quality family time which was the best part about it.

If you were abandoned on a deserted island, what single creature comfort would you desire most?

My espresso machine for sure, I think people would be more likely to rescue me after I’ve had my daily coffee…

Who were your heroes growing up and how did that influence your life and career?

My heroes growing up were my parents. My mom, early on, instilled in me and my brothers the importance of financial planning and responsibility and through the years, despite many challenges, was there to help us accomplish that. My dad showed me the daily commitment of balancing work and family, which both required all his hours, and still always made time to be my biggest cheerleader on the golf course. They provided me with an amazing foundation to learn and accomplish whatever I set my mind to and I am forever grateful for that.
