Why did you choose to come to work at Balentine?

I chose to come to work at Balentine because of the people I met during the interview process. Everyone is committed to providing the best possible client experience and to building a firm to be proud of. Balentine invests in employee development and the people that work for the firm have a growth mindset. I am grateful to be a part of such a special place.

What was your best business decision?

As I was finishing my Masters degree, I was presented with the choice to work for a small, family business as their Controller or start my career with one of the big public accounting firms. I ended up taking the risk and working for the smaller firm because I was promised the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the business. I learned more than I could have imagined in the first several years out of school and discovered I thrive in a position that requires me to be hands-on and wear many different hats. It is something that initially drew me to the role at Balentine.

What inspires you to come to work each day?

I love being a part of a very collaborative culture and having the opportunity to see and participate in a variety of work. It is rewarding to work in an environment where people are empowered to ask questions and learn.

What do you like to do in your down time away from work?

I love to host friends and family, get away to the mountains for the weekend, try new restaurants or cook new recipes with my husband and spend any and all time with our daughter.

What is the most exotic place you have ever been?

My husband and I traveled to Japan a few years ago and we still talk about the trip often. It was the first time I have felt totally lost and in the best possible way.
